Lovely to be in the garden

We've been flat tack...and I think it caught up with me today.

Food

It was nice just to be in the garden for 15 minutes. The cat was in the garage roof crying because he couldn't get down the cars he used to get up there had moved.
The kids played with their chickens cat too.
Truck into wof...ouch 4 new tires needed.
Playing maths...dd loves anything too do with numbers but hates math work sheets...does not get why we have to do it again and again. So we've got a new card game...loving it.

Trying to write

We've worked with jolly phonics...or inky and snakee as my kids call them.
Dd is very excited about dictation ... ?.? Eh?
Oh well
We've also been working on our science with rain clouds and rainbows.
Mostly dd will head off on her own and come up all these story's and pictures.

A truly wonderful time had with wonderful people. The playcentre group of DD years rocks. So this year with an invite to camp at the caves we were off. Such a small town its great to know everyone.

We stayed three days packing up before the weather broke.

Cindy the brave lass decided to take all the kids and parents caving...MAD.

The kids loved it. Dave's leg is only just able to move and the walk we did really worked him well.

We had super over tired children but I think a lot of good memory's were made.

Kind of kick starting me into trying to get out there.

Auckland visit again

Another check up for Dave at greenlane so we visited Cornwall park...dd is loving it saying its Mary's house and gardens from the secret garden. We had a wonderful time exploring Arcadia house and wondering who lived there.

Once we explored a bit DS spotted some pretty heavy duty tree trimming going on. So we watched the guys climb up a LONG way.

After Dave's appointment we headed to the museum. Loved it. Dd wanted to go to the volcano room first. She didn't watch it all to the end before and this time she and DS became frightened.
Loved so many different parts but the moon sand table with bugs was the biggest winner.

We've never made it to the third floor wouldn't say we did really this time either but they loved the dugout.
DS got a terrible fright when the whole movie screen wall moved and out stepped a man...so we made our way slowly back to the car.

Very tired kids but off to Wellington tomorrow.

First day back

I know after a break it's aways hard to get back into the swing.
Dd had a nightmare about loosing all her hard work on egg words. She's worked so hard to earn enough money to buy her own iPad and finally she did. Dave helped her order on line.
We managed to gift a few apps to her. Bugs and numbers is a huge hit along with egg words and word bingo. ? Eh?
She's also tackled the sims and working out that trying to earn enough money. It's a laugh.

So far only one large interruption the concrete cutter...

Will try for another lesson after morning tea.

Went well lots of counting and ball skills then into baking. I keep saying no baking in the afternoon but I forget it's hard work.

Dd opened a pack of pebbles to sort into rainbow colours...part of OM today. She was miffed that there was hardly any red...the most needed colour. We counted them all out.
With jelly beans as extra it worked.

Have DS in OM kindy now so working the two curriculum in together will be a little challenge.

Wind is horrible hampering outdoor play.

A week before end of term dec

What a week. Took Dave to greenlane hospital. Went to Cornwall park which dd said it was Mary's place from the secret garden....do we did everything that Mary did.
We climbed trees and looked in the old house and explored the gardens.

We flew to Wellington.
Amazing weekend.
My cousin got married.
Dd and DS explored, meet and talked to do many people.

We've now been at home for a few days. Still very tired but plugging along. Dd did some wonderful sewing today. I cut out the shape and started her off and she finished it up with Nana helping the final knot.
