New chick babies

After our zoo trip for the Hemophilia Christmas break up we drove home in the HEAT and picked up 4 little Silkie chicks. We had spent a month waiting for our own to hatch out of the incubator.... :-( I'm a grumpy Mummy. Dave had a look after we had had the eggs in the incubator and he said there was nothing inside. Very angry!!!
But we have these little ones now for a good price and my children are very happy with their babies.

Haemophila HFNZ Zoo visit Nov 2013

The HFNZ-Haemophila asked if the kids could come to the zoo for a Christmas break up. Bit of a long hall down to Auckland but I thought why not. My Dad was keen to help out and that meant Dave could have a much needed rest at home doing stuff. The weather was EXTREMELY hot and the kids had energy for some parts but mostly we just drooped after lunch.
They had a visit from Santa. DS eyes could hardly believe what was going on. And then lolly scramble.

I took many photos of this bird getting closer and closer...it was amazing I expected it to fly off at any moment but I was able to get right up and hold the camera out without zoom. It left when Dad offered it his finger.
Both my children love the bird enclosure and asked to stay here. DS was eating his lunch when he felt something behind him
DD was wondering what the noise was.
 Hello!
Very tame...but only Granddad was aloud to put out a finger
This bird stayed with us all lunch...and you can guess why.

DD is trying to take a photo of an eel...this was one of the favorite animals to visit...started to get very excited as we came down the ramp towards the enclosure.

Sandpit

I lost my kids on the weekend...I could not hear their little voices I started to look as every parent knows when its quiet its not often good.
But I was happy to discover that it was good...of a sort.
DD and DS have been filling their clothes with sand...this was the beginning of making Sand People.
My poor washing machine.

Family pets

DD's beloved chicken is unwell. This is really hard on both her and I. I don't like to see her sad but I know sadness is a part of life sometimes and it is important to be able to feel sad and not told to buck up.
DD spends a lot of time with her chicken cornflower. She writes about cornflower. She dreams about cornflower. She plays with cornflower.

A gloop day

We often had Gloop at Playcentre and the kids really loved it. It takes a little while to get into touch and experiment with it but after a while they do.
Its just what to do with it once you've finished.

Counting with household/garden items

DS has been learning along side DD from birth and picks things up all the time. But sometimes I have to remember to run an activity just for him.

DD helping out and really enjoying herself

Was a bit difficult when the wind blew but they had fun anyway.
